Al Khor airport, January 10 and 11, 2014: The seventh edition Organised by the Al Khor Fly-In Organising Committee marked a successful staging recently with a crowd of around 15,000 people.
Aircraft owners from Qatar, the GCC and overseas showed off their machines and raise awareness about aviation among Qataris and foreign guests. It is likewise a great opportunity for those with a love and passion for aviation to immerse themselves in a fantastic and original experience that enables them to take a closer look at a diverse range of aircraft – from jets, propeller aircraft, microcopters and many others.
Thus, together with Platinum Sponsors' Qatar Airways, Gold Sponsors Ooredoo and RasGas, and Silver Sponsors Qatar Aeronautical College, Barwa Bank, QAFCO and Gulf Helicopters, this year's edition of the annual crowd-drawing attraction proved to be its biggest and the best show so far.
Both children and adults were amazed at the line-up of activities held over two days, which included parachute jumping, aerobatic show, static displays, as well as rare opportunities of interacting with world-class pilots from Qatar, the region and the world.
The objective of the entire event is to educate, inspire and develop fresh ideas and initiatives among the youth and families in general about the science and concept of aviation and to offer them the opportunity to plan their future as well as choose their desired specialization through fun-filled yet highly informative events such as this.
For his part, Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad al Thani, chairman of the Al Khor Fly-In Organising Committee expressed his gratitude for the full support provided by the event's key sponsors, as he also vowed to make next year's edition even bigger and better than this year's.
