Doha-Qatar, May31, 2015: Qatar Aeronautical College (QAC) on 28th of May 2015 celebrated the graduation of a new batch of Pilots, Aircraft Maintenance Engineers, Airport Operations Management Personnel and Meteorologists under the patronage of HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani and in the presence of HE the Minister of Transport, Jassim Bin Seif Ahmed al-Sulaiti, dignitaries from various government entities, ambassadors, college officials and parents.
The graduating group comprises 98 students, including 52 Qataris. Of the graduates, 70 were male and 28 were female.
Speaking during the ceremony, HE the Minister of Transport highlighted the support and backing of HH the Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani for the college.
He also hailed the close attention of HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and his constant supervision of students’ scientific affairs.
The 26 graduating pilots have successfully completed 76 weeks of training courses, including intensive courses of ground training, featuring 14 tests from the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA)
In the flight training, pilots flew single-engine and twin-engine aircraft in order to pass the test as one of the requirements of CAA. At the end of the courses, graduates were handed commercial flight licences for twin-engine aircraft and became qualified for receiving Air Transport Licence certificate (Frozen ATPL).
The 19 graduating Aircraft Maintenance Engineers, 11 of whom graduated from the Mechanical stream and 8 from the Ground Avionics Stream, have successful completed the intensive 101 weeks of training including OJT and are certified under QCAA.
The Airport Operations Management Dept. graduated 48 students who have successfully completed their 2-year program and earned a Diploma in Airport Operations Management.
The Meteorology department graduated 5 students including 4 as Senior MET Technician on completion of a 2 and a half year program and 1 as Class II forecaster on completion of a 1-year programme.
At the end of the ceremony, HE al-Sulaiti and QAC Director-General Ali Ibrahim al-Malki handed over certificates and gifts to the graduates.
Doha - Qatar, September 25, 2014:The Ministry of the Interior signs contract for the Diploma in Immigration and Security Management in partnership with the College of Qatar Aeronautical College, The contract was signed by His Excellency Major General Dr. Abdullah Yousuf Al-Maal, Adviser - Minister of Interior, and Mr. Ali Ibrahim al-Malki, Director General, Qatar Aeronautical College in presence of Dr. Mohammed Hamad Agheiathin, Assistant Director of Human Resources Management, Captain Ali Saud Henzab, Head of Training, Major General Dr. Abdullah Al-Maal said in a press statement after the signing of the agreement that the establishment of a Diploma in Immigration and Security Management was the idea turned into reality on the basis of doing the training for the batch from the high school graduates and who will work in the Airport Immigration allocated to the Hamad International Airport, adding that 416 trainees will be covered initially under the contract from the employees of the Ministry of the Interior, will enroll them in a course of study at Qatar Aeronautical College for two years and will be eligible to get a Diploma in Immigration and Security Management on the basis of specialization. He said that the Diploma in Immigration and Security Management is recognized by the SEC and by Certification Bodies in Britain and the Diploma may be calculated towards credits in future studies.
Noting that under this agreement there has been a certified Diploma in Immigration and Security Management which will cover all the needs of the Ministry of Interior for the human resources requirement in this field. Mr. Ali Ibrahim al-Malki, Director General of the Qatar Aeronautical College, on his part said, that this diploma enables the students to gain the required qualification under and upon graduation continue to study in the field to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree, pointing out that the diploma which was established by the College for Immigration & Airport Security is equivalent to the so-called co-diploma or university degree medium. The college will divide the students in the current batch into groups to receive theoretical and practical training for
Two years after being discharged to work in the Airport Immigration.
Brigadier Issa Arar Rumaihi, Director of Airport Security said he was pleased with this agreement with Qatar Aeronautical College, as this step enhances the role of Airport Security in maintaining Security and Safety at the Hamad International Airport, adding that the training process will Include three phases, namely the establishment phase and stage of specialization and stage of advanced training, and will qualify as Airport Security Personnel to carry out the role assigned to them in maintaining security inside the airport and to maintain the security and safety of passengers, and so they are fully aware of the mechanisms of specialized work, stressing that this Diploma will raise the efficiency of individuals and achieve the vision of the Ministry of Interior in Human Resource work, comprehensive Immigration Employees, Airport administration and Management of Airport Security.
Doha - Qatar, Jun 17, 2014: The Qatar Aeronautical College graduated its class of 2014 at a Passing Out ceremony at Hilton yesterday.
A total of 107 students — 55 Qataris and 52 non-Qataris — (81 men and 26 women) graduated from the college’s Pilot Training, Aeronautical Engineering and Airport Operations Management Departments.
The Minister of Transport H E Jassim Seif Ahmed Al Sulaiti attended the ceremony.
The Qatari graduates will be employed by Qatar Airways and Civil Aviation Authority.
The Minister and Ali Ibrahim Al Malki, Director General of the college, awarded prizes and graduation certificates.
The 29 pilot graduates have successfully completed a 76-week training course, including an intensive ground instructional phase, 14 QCAA examinations, and a flying phase in which they flew single and twin-engine aircraft to pass two demanding QCAA flight examinations.
At the end of the course, they were awarded a Qatari Commercial Pilots Licence with a multi-engine Instrument Rating.
They also qualified for an Air Transport Pilots Licence Knowledge certificate. All these qualifications are internationally recognised and enable the graduates to proceed with their training in Qatar Airways or other commercial airlines.
The prize for the Best Overall Pilot Student was awarded to Ahmed Magdy Arafa Mohammed.
The 29 engineering graduates have completed an intensive two-and-a-half-year course in which they studied not only theoretical aspects of engineering but also practical skills required for their future careers.
Those qualifying as aircraft maintenance engineers completed the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and QCAA-approved Part 66 course licence, which will allow them to work in the maintenance hangars of Qatar Airways.
Additionally, the Air Transport Safety Electronics Personnel (A TSEP) course is designed specifically to provide qualified electronics systems engineers at Hamad International Airport.
The prize for the Best Overall Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Student was awarded to Loai Fouad M Abou-chahla. This year, 49 graduates from the Airport Operations Management Department were awarded certificates.
The Airport Operations Diploma extends over two years and includes courses from International Air Transport Association (lATA) and Qatar Aeronautical College.
Students graduating from this department completed courses covering airport terminals, cargo, ticketing and customer service.
They will be employed in different departments at Hamad International Airport and will prove themselves as an asset to the new facility. The prize for the Best Overall Airport Operations Management Student was awarded to Hassan Abdulaziz Jassim M A Jarman.
QAC is pleased to announce that it is now approved to deliver the TA.1 License course approved by both EASA and QCAA.The course is designed for those wishing to make the first step into a career in aviation maintenance and qualifies them to work as Mechanics at airlines such as Qatar Airways. The course is approximately 9 months long with the final 2 months spent in approved Part 145 organization (such as Qatar Airways hangars and Flight Line) to gain Practical Work Experience in a live aircraft environment. At the end of the course, successful students will be awarded QCAA and EASA Part 66 Certificates of Basic Training as ‘A’ License mechanics."
Doha - Qatar, February 11, 2014 : The event was attended by more than 3,500 sports enthusiasts and members of the Qatar aviation community, including Mr. Ali Ibrahim Al Malki, Director General of Qatar Aeronautical College. Teams from different departments across the aviation sector participated in various tournaments. The excitement of the football, cricket, and volleyball competitions kept the crowds entertained throughout the entire day at Aspire Zone, Qatar’s largest and most prestigious sports facility.
The cricket competition trophy was presented by Abdulaziz Al-Mass, Senior Manager Public Relations and Communications at Doha International Airport. In the Finals of the Cricket Tournament, QAC Eagles team captained by Mr. Mudasser habib representing Qatar Aeronautical College played against Basement Buddies representing Qatar Airways and batted away a victory. Mr. Nigel Fernandes from QAC Eagles emerged as the Man of the Series for his exceptional overall performance during the tournament. Miss Preeti Chauhan from Qatar Airways Basement Buddies Team was the only female participant and she was recognized for her participation in the tournament.
Team Falcons representing Qatar Aeronautical College, winners of the volleyball competition, confirmed that QAC has amazing sportsman among their ranks. In the smashing finals they overpowered DIA’s Swingers. Abdulrahim Alharam, Head of the Public Relations & Communication Unit at Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, presented the trophy to the Falcons.
A special area was also provided for children, with face painting, bouncy castles, balloons, a magician’s show, and other activities to keep them active and engaged throughout the day.
The event was highlighted with music to entertain the crowd adding even more fun to the festivities, as visitors were treated with genuine Qatari hospitality through an enticing menu of vitalising and energising food and drinks.
Al Khor airport, January 10 and 11, 2014: The seventh edition Organised by the Al Khor Fly-In Organising Committee marked a successful staging recently with a crowd of around 15,000 people.

Doha – Qatar, 27th January 2014: A passing out ceremony for the graduates of Met Forecasters and Observers who took training in the Department of Meteorology held on 27th January 2014 at Marriot Hotel.
Fifteen Met Forecaster students from Oman Civil Aviation Authority, two Met Technician (WMO –Class III) from Directorate General of Planning and Human resources Development, Royal Court Affairs, Oman, and thirty seven Met Observers (WMO Class IV) (twenty eight from Oman Civil Aviation Authority, two from NCMS, UAE, one from India and six fro Qatar) graduated on the day.

Doha – Qatar, December 17, 2013 : Qatar Aeronautical College, Doha International Airport, Qatar CivilAviation Authority (QCAA), Qatar Airways and Gulf Helicopters joined hands to host a joint celebration for Qatar National Day.
The ceremonial event by the Qatar Aviation Industry, which featured a lavishly decorated tent, was held at Airport park .
While HE the Minister of Transport Jassim Seif al-Sulaiti graced the occasion, the event was officiated by Abdul Aziz Mohamed al-Nuaimi, chairman of QCAA. Dr.Salem Rashid Al-Marri, Director of Joint Services of QAC. Dr. Saeed Al-Sulaiman, Director of Academic Affairs of QAC .
Also present were Akbar al-Baker, CEO of Qatar Airways, and other leaders of Qatar’s aviation sector.
The event featured traditional and ethnic activities such as Arda, falconry, face-painting for children, traditional food and drinks, making of fishing baskets, camel and horse shows, where the students and employees families came together to mark the special day in an ambience filled with pride and loyalty.
